Titano/Paolo Soprani? 1 year ago #6137

Hello,
I am still trying to find an instrument. My local music store (owned by an accordionist) has a second hand Titano ladies model 41/120. It has yet to be serviced so is not on the shelf yet so I do not have further details. It will be oldish I imagine. Any thougts on Titano at all? I have not come across one of these in my hunt so far.
My other options at present are a second hand Paolo Soprani 34/72 or the same size Paolo Soprani only new which is obviously a lot more expensive. Am I limiting myself too much with this size?
Any and all advice is most welcome.
Thanks
EmeraldDiva

It's a bit hard to comment since we don't know the prices and what the market is like in your area. The lady 41/120 might not be that much heavier than a 34/72 so could be a good idea. A used Paolo Soprani sounds like a good option as well, depends on the price and your budget!

Thanks Bourniplus. If it helps, the new Paolo Soprani Studio 72 is selling at AUD3000. I did not want to spend so much, but if I cannot find a good used instrument I may have to start saving.
The Titano will be AUD995 which is the same as the used Soprani. This seems to be a pretty standard sort of price for a used instrument in good condition, serviced and tuned.
I was thinking that the Titano may be a less limiting option as long as I am comfortable with the weight. I will go and view it although it is white and I am not sure how I feel about that!

Well i have been to see the Titano. It is a ladies model 41/120 2/4. It is very pretty and looks and feels and sounds to be in good shape. It has one sticky key which will be fixed when it is serviced. It is not too heavy for me and I like it a lot although it will not be avail for a couple of weeks yet.
Any thoughts and advice welcome.
Thanks

Personnally I wouldn't be caught playing a white accordion. By 2/4 do you mean only 2 voices for the right hand? I would find that a bit limiting.

Ha-ha, I'm with you on the 'white' bit! It turned out to be a very attractive pale gold sort of colour all over the body and keys. It is really a very pretty instrument.
Yes it does have only 2 voices and that concerns me a bit also, but I have been looking for soooo long.
I'll start a new post and see if I can get some more feedback, but I really loved the look and size and feel of this instrument. If only it had more voices it would be ideal I think.
Thanks for your feedback, much apppreciated.

By the way, there is a thread in this same section of the forum about someone selling a Scandalli 80 bass in Australia...
2 voices could be ok if you can live without the musette reeds, if you ask me I'd rather have a white accordion than one with only 2 voices. hum wait...

Don`t let the color bother you. Color means nothing.
What is important is how it plays and the sounds you can get out of it.
I have a black, red, AND a white accordion.
The white one happens to sound the best and is the most versatile .
